Meet Mrs. Trufax

Mrs. Trufax is a character I created many years ago for the education and enlightenment of children and especially those who attend after school Bible clubs .At that time, I was very involved with the Bible Club sponsored by our church, Bible Storytime. Mrs. Trufax appears in tracts and children’s gospel literature and travels far and wide with her remarkable missionary dog, “Truly”. Mrs. Trufax is also a regular in a children’s column for The Little Encourager.

Who Is Mrs. Trufax?

She is a schoolteacher, a Sunday School teacher, after school Bible Club leader, and a missionary during the summer months. Her dog, Truly, travels with her and is very daring and dependable. They are a real team on the mission field. Mrs. Trufax cares about kids. She writes tracts for Children and works hard to help children everywhere understand how very much Jesus loves them. She goes far and wide with Truly, passing out her tracts and teaching the principles taught in the Bible. Sometimes, things don't work out quite as she planned, but everything always works out the way God planned for it to work out. Her madcap adventures are schedule for a chapter book in the near future.

The Writer's Museum, Scotland

Situated in Lady Stair's House, built in 1622, The Writers' Museum is dedicated to the lives and work of Scotland's great literary figures, in particluar Robert Burns (1759 - 1796), Sir Walter Scott (1771 - 1832) and Robert Louis Stevenson (1850 - 1894). Download the brochure here. (PDF format).

Some stories are written from a vivid imagination, woven like threads in a tapestry to become alive with sight and sound, color and contrast. Some stories are mere ideas, thoughts and reflections that are methodically and carefully framed into words that tell the tale. Still others are the true experiences of life lived, of stories and events more wonderful than a fiction writer could ever produce. This is where I write. And God, who is the Master Author, holds the pen.           Ruth Carmichael Ellinger.
